Welcome to the Community Media Center of Santa Rosa

Services for Government
The title of Government Media usually brings to mind images of boring industrial videos that we saw in grade school, but that is not true of the media that’s produced at the Community Media Center to highlight Santa Rosa’s municipal programs and services.

Patricia Wilburn, Production Specialist for Government, uses the skills she learned in the Broadcast Department at San Francisco State University to personalize each piece, and put a human face on our local government.

The City of Santa Rosa reaches out to the community in many ways, with after-school programs that promote gang prevention, free bicycles and helmets for needy kids, and a Neighborhood Revitalization Program to restore some of Santa Rosa’s most troubled parts of town.

The City’s Recreation and Parks Department also provides some exciting video opportunities, with an abundance of outdoor activities, such as their boating program at Howarth Park, which has taught several generations how to sail.

The Utility Department uses the DVD we produced to promote water conservation, and the video is an excellent starting place to learn where we get our drinking water.

We invite you to view some examples of what’s possible in the wide-open realm of media for government. You may be surprised to learn about the many programs and services the City of Santa Rosa offers, and how these programs have helped to improve life for everyone in our community.

The Community Media Center provides local, noncommercial media services to schools, nonprofits, individual residents and local government.

Government media opportunities are designed to assist public employees and officials to use media services to enhance their service to the Santa Rosa community.
