- Pay an Annual Membership Fee
- Basic Membership: $15 per year, Senior/Students $10 per year.
If you or your group already has produced programming or if you intend to create shows with your own equipment, then a Basic membership may be your best choice. For a low annual fee you receive scheduled channel time to present your programs. Your assigned playback mentor will help you with the tape submission process.
- Individual Membership: $40 per year, Senior/Students: $30 per year.
The individual membership provides the broadest range of options for the would-be producer. You will receive training, mentor services, channel time and the flexibility to create shows on any subject you choose.
- Family Membership: $65 per year.
Family Membership Making TV can be a family affair! For one annual membership fee, up to two adults and their dependent children (completed 6th grade or at least 13 years old) can all become members. Take classes together or separately: Work together and/or with other CMC members. Your family’s mentor will help make it a successful group effort.
- Organizational Membership: $65 per year for up to 3 representatives, $15 per additional.
Organizational Membership Many local organizations use CMC’s resources to promote their mission, reach potential clients or share news of their successes. With this type of membership, local organizations can authorize any number of representatives to work with CMC on their behalf. CMC even has staff members whose main job is to train and assist nonprofit organizations using CMC resources.
- Youth Membership: $30 per year.
Youth between the ages of 13—17 or have completed the 6th grade, may join and participate at the media center on the same terms as adults, provided that they have parent or guardian permission.
- Meeting your Mentor
Should you choose to join and become part of the CMC family, you will be assigned a staff mentor. It is the mentor’s job to help you get the most out of your experience at the Media Center.
- Getting Facility and Equipment Certification
Before you can “DO” you need to know “HOW”. CMC Certification is required to use the equipment and provides verification that you have mastered the basics of equipment operation and care. There are two paths to certification: Successful completion of a Certification Workshop OR Demonstration of skill though a "Test-Out".
- Creating a Project
Once you’re trained and ready, it’s time to begin your project. Fill out a program proposal and meet with your mentor for review. He/she may offer advice, make equipment recommendations and then assign resources for you to use. Your production will also receive a number to be used when making equipment and facility reservations. Then all you have to do is reserve the equipment and facilities you need and submit your program when finished.
- Submitting your Program to Air
Each CMC member producer (or organizational member) may submit up to two programs for any two week scheduling period. In order for the CMC playback department to properly prepare and promote the program schedule, programs must be turned in at least 38 days prior to anticipated playback. A member may request an earlier play for "time urgent" programs that qualify. Based on the information on the “Request for Playback” form, CMC staff will help the member select playback times that are intended to work well for the producer, as well as the audience. Each program submitted for cablecast over a two week schedule period will play at least four times.
